SLINKSOFT - SLINK'S NEW PORTFOLIO

My name is Dan; also known as Slink. I have had a continuous interest in computers since I was a little kid. I grew up with video games, and a father that was always working on computers and other technology. What really sparked my interest in the behind-the-scenes of software was performing glitches in various games such as Super Smash Bros., LoZ: OoT, and many more. I later on started getting involved with video game hacks and mods that would modify the process memory of the video games to create something new within the video game. While I did not know the technical behind it all, it kept my interest going. Towards junior year of high school, I started learning VB.NET, and made basic programs and 2D games. Throughout college, I learned more languages like C# (my favorite), Java (personal and academic studies), Python, C++, and more. I knew I had a passion at creating software, which is why I am majoring in Bachelors of Science in Computer Science.

I also have a love for cyber security. Ethical hacking is fun, challenging, and an art. I have performed various types of attacks in simulated environments such as XSS, SQL injection, backdoor shell uploading, MiTM, cracking Router PSKs via WEP and PixieDust WPS, and many more. Unfortunately, I have driven away from this area to focus on my academic studies, personal and open-source projects, which aims more towards software development/engineering. However, I keep ethical hacking as a side hobby. My goal was to execute basic attack methods on websites, routers, and networks to see how such attacks can be carried out, and how I can keep myself safe and know when to suspect something suspicious taking place on a network, website, etc. I also wanted to share this knowledge with others, which is why I posted my tutorial videos. In addition to my basic ethical hacking videos, I also make videos on programming concepts, basic algorithms, and data structures and post them on my YouTube channel, ReTrOSlink; the series of videos is dubbed Coding Session.

For now, I am focusing on my academic work, personal projects and open-source projects. Most of my projects are basic games, computer programs, and mobile applications. In general, I love software development.
